Bone SpursExperiencing a bone spur in the foot is one of the most common causes of foot pain. A bone spur occurs when a bone fragment points out from the bone and goes into the sensitive tissues. It is most common at joints. Bone spurs can occur commonly in and around the toes causing corns or bursitis to form, but can also form on the top of the foot. The most common bone spur on the foot is probably the heel spur. Treatment of bone spurs in the foot requires taking pressure off the spur. The can be accomplished through something as simple as changing your shoes, or by using padding over the area. Cortisone injections and anti-inflammatory medicines may also prove helpful. | ![]() |
